Here’s a big shout out to our friends Mark and Wendy Steller, owners of Old Town Market on Clark Avenue in Old Orcutt! Congratulations on being named Business of the Year 2012 by the Orcutt Lions Club!! That’s quite an honor, and well deserved.

I have written about this market before, waxing nostalgic about small town grocery stores back on November 4 (click here), as recently as May 12 (click here), and often before and in between!  I support and promote small local businesses, and believe this is one of the best examples of one that is truly vested in this community.

Bringing Fun to Old Orcutt

Mark has faithfully given us his Saturday night wine tastings, and you cannot beat his prices and his selections of wine, nor his knowledge.  Try finding a clerk at a supermarket to advise you on which wine to purchase for the main course for your dinner party….

There are parking lot events too, where he invites other vendors to participate in creating a “flea market” type atmosphere for the public — who doesn’t love bargain hunting! These events can be stand-alone, or they may be in conjunction with other local events, such as car shows.
